So apparently I have taken a long sabatical. I have been really busy since I last wrote. Busy with my mom being really sick and in the hospital, having to put my dog down, going on a five day road trip across country and yes, the ever present Holiday present making. Since most of these things have passed, I don't really want to re-hash what happened, especially not with putting my dog, Jazz down. It was and is just too painful. It was very unexpected and so so hard although I know that it has and will get better with time. Its just definitely weird to have such a personable animal that you take care of every day and then to one day no longer have that.
On to more fun things- my roadtrip was awesome. Ten states in five days people. Let's list them: Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Arkansas, Tennesee, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky. It was madness and let me tell you, Texas took up most of the time! I knew Texas was big and yet I was still surprised when I would look at the signs and see, yes, we are still in Texas. The most exciting was being in Memphis, Tennesee and seeing Graceland. It was hilarious, although there were some die hard fans there who didn't quite think it was as cheesily awesome as we did. To them it was serious Elvis business. I am sure I will have lots of stories in the coming posts.. Maybe I'll let them trickle out over a short span of time, just for everybody's amusement. I might even call it, Jackie's lessons from the road...

Finally sold on Etsy- I don't know, I really liked this one and it never sold. But now it's off to its new home- yay.
I can't believe that it is already the 25th of September- its madness. And where have I been. Well to be honest, I have been here and mabe even there. I needed a blogging break and I think I am ready to be back- well that is until my sister and I leave for London and Spain in mid- October. I am excited and yet I feel totally unprepared- kind of like having a pop quiz or something. I think I may be the only person who doesn't love vacations. Once I am there it is a different story. But while I am here and the vacation has yet to begin, I worry about what I will miss, if things will be alright etc. Then again, worrying is normal for me- I always worry about any little thing. In the meantime I am trying to avoid the worry by distracting myself by keeping busy.
What have I been distracting myself with- well do the list shall we?
- Saw Across the Universe- I am in love with this movie. I am a huge Beatles fan to say the least but even if you weren't the imagery in this movie would be enough. Now I am obsessed with getting the song "I've Just Seen A Face" - Beatles, its one of those songs that gets stuck in your head forever and you aren't even sorry.
- Went to LA Invasion with Kin and other peoples. The Foo Fighters were amazing- is it possible to be bff with Dave Grohl- who can make that happen?
- Been watching Heroes off of Netflix- I know, I know people said watch it, you'll like it. But as soon as people tell me to watch it, I don't want to. And then I eventualy get over my stubborness and do it- rebeling for nothing...
- I learned how to use my sewing machine with the help of my mom. And I made a tote out of canvas. I really want to start making canvas reusable bags with my designs on them so that everything is hand made.
- Cried because the White Stripes canceled their tour and Lauren and I had good tickets.
- I've been painting lots of purses and lo and behold people are buying them- yay. I want to have more stuff up on Etsy this week.
- Found a lot of cool vintage purses and clutches for cheap and will unveil them soon
- Been saving money- and I have been doing well too- I think I may be okay for my trip.
- Enjoying the Fall-ish weather and a little bit of rain- you know how I dig rain
- Made postcards for an Autumn Postcard Swap. I did a take on vintage pee-chee folders. Remember those folders?
Until next time...Now go see Across The Universe!
The beginning of the polaroid wall
I am planing to fill this wall up with cool polaroids eventually- ever so slowly. I really wish I had enough to fill up the entire wall already. Its a good thing that I picked an itty bitty wall, otherwise it would never get done. You got to have goals, people- haha.
Have I mentioned that I really want a photo booth to take pics whenever I want? I am sure I have. For now my trusty polaroid camera and polaroid wall will have to do....
