two purses I painted last night

Ok, so I know I have said that I usually like all of the purses that I paint. They would never see the light of day if I didn't like them somewhat. And for the most part, I try to only do ones that I would carry. Not to be arrogant- but damn I love those two purses above, especially the gold gun one.

Melinda and I are going to have an art weekend so I am hoping to get almost everything done- (well the purses at least)- we shall see though. No worries, I only have ten billion purses left. Right....

Oh and if you are in the Orange County area, Sterling Art is having a 30% off everything sale. I need some brushes- poor things, I have run mine into little clumps.

My moo cards

Have I told you that I am obsessed with Moo cards. Check it if you haven't heard of them. I am going to put these ones in my painted clutches at Bazaar Bizarre. And I just ordered some for Christmas tags- no more store bought ones for me- unless they don't come in time. They should though- it only took a week and a half for these to arrive.

And here is something to try on your morning commute. Blast your radio and sing every song in a warbly old lady voice. I promise its hilarious. My favorites to sing are: The Seed- The Roots, Caress Me Down- Sublime(dirty song lyrics in Spanish and English are always funny in an almost opera old lady voice), and No Diggity- Blackstreet. Good times...

Thanksgiving was good, even though I was sicker than a mother. Lots of food was had- I love me some stuffing. So basically I got nothing done on the painting front due to the sickness that has parked in me- so I will be scrambling this week. I can do it! Tell me I can.

Here's a little list of things that I am thankful for:

- my immediate family- they keep me sane
- watching movies and laughter
- cold medicine- thanks Tylenol cold and sinus
- new art things happening
- change- I hate the transition- but things will be cool- they always are
- Christmas is almost here!

And here's a little meme that made me laugh- do it- you know you want to:

1. Rockstar name (your first pet’s name + current street name)

Skippy Handy (ok thats just ridiculous)

2. Gangsta name (fav. ice cream + fav. cookie)

mint chocolate oatmeal (gangstas don't dance, they boogie!)

3. “Fly guy/girl” name (first initial of first name + first 3 letters of last name)

J-Sep (still silly, yo!)

4. Detective name (favorite color + favorite animal)

Blue Dog (hahaha)

5. Soap Opera name (middle name + city where you were born)

Renee Fullerton

6. Star Wars Name (First 3 letters of your last name + first 2 letters of first name)

Sepja (I don't know- I kinda like it)

7. superhero name (”the” + second favorite color + favorite drink)

The Black Mojito (ok, what would I be fighting and why would the mojito be black- sounds dangerous to me)

8. Nascar Name (first names of your grandfathers)

Louis Ramon

9. Stripper name (favorite perfume + favorite candy)

Romance Lollipop (that just sounds sick)

10. Witness Protection name (parents middle names)

Gerarda Alegria (horrible, just bad- and yeah my mom's middle name is Gerarda after St. Gerard)

new purses

So many things happening on the painting vintage purses tip. So here is a little list of things that I have been doing and that I am feeling:

- I joined International Mixtape Project- which gives you a name and address of a different member every month to send a mix cd to. Who doesn't like a mixtape? Because we all need a list within a list- here is the playlist that I sent out:
1. Know Your Rights- The Clash
2. Fight The Power- Public Enemy
3. I Won't Back Down- Tom Petty
4. Paragraph President- Blackalicious
5. Heroes- David Bowie
6. Radio Freq- Dead Prez
7. Instant Karma- John Lennon
8. The Message- Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five
9. I Fought The Law- The Crickets
10. Home of the Brave- Mr. Lif
11. Village Ghetto Land- Stevie Wonder
12. Makeshift Patriot- Sage Francis
13. No Shelter- Rage Against The Machine
14. Freedom- Jimi Hendrix
15. Do The Evolution- Pearl Jam
16. Toxicity- System of a Down
17. Talkin' Bout A Revolution- Tracy Chapman

- Redecorating my grandma's house to fit my style- I just wrote a three page list of things that I want to do to the place (no joke- my house will never be done)

- Happy Feet is just so damn cute!

- My sister and I saw Aerosmith- I've said it before- but there is nothing like Steven Tyler and Joe Perry live

- Laker games are kickass- but why is there always some lame loud person behind you screaming out things that they don't understand? If you don't know the rules of the game- just shut it.

The mostly mosaic-ed (is that even a word?) bench

if your life were a soundtrack, what would the music be?

here's how it works:
1. open your library (iTunes, winamp, media player, iPod)
2. put it on shuffle
3. press play
4. for every question, type the song that's playing
5. new question-- press the next button
6. don't lie and try to pretend you're cool
(is it cheating if this is the second time you have tried this thing- once on myspace and once here- I don't think so)

But I am about to have some adventures this weekend- so I will have some good things to post about at least. Oh and one very, very, very, very good thing- Melinda and I are going to be selling our wares at Bazaar Bizarre in December- (yes, I have ten million things to paint now!).
