The Ring Of Fire- Halfway done
The Ring of Fire- almost done- waiting for the tile that I am going to put on
Behold, the Ring of Fire, people. I thought it would never be done- so I am so excited to show it even though I haven't started tiling it. I will let you know how it progresses though.
Some movies I have seen lately:
* Thank You For Smoking- I really should have seen this movie before. That's why Netflix is the greatest- so funny.
* Lackawanna Blues- beautiful movie based on a true story of a woman who helps people who come along the way.
* Marie Antoinette- pretty much eye candy with all the costumes and scenary
I have so many projects going on- The backyard of my house, the garage that is being turned into a studio, painting canvases, painting purses and shoes for people and taking more photos of the world around me. Good thing I love me some projects.

* Emperor's New Groove- so funny to me- I love sarcasm
Four places I have lived:

* Trabuco Canyon, California

When I was in school I never really had that thirst for knowledge. I did what I had to do and some things were more exciting than others- but I kind of just went through the motions. Now with no pressure, no looming deadlines and no grading system, I feel the need to learn more. I want to know and be inspired. I yearn to read about a full spectrum of things that flit around my mind- like who exactly were the Romanoffs, more info on Wounded Knee, more on female painters in history and I desperately need a refresher course on modern art movements because all the knowledge I previously had on the subject is starting to vacate my memory. Most of the things I want to know are based on history- I really want to come at my art with a different point of view and to do that sometimes you have to go back.
What I just finished reading- Paint It Black- Janet Fitch- story of a tortured soul, it took me a day or so to get this book out of my head. Most times when I read I immerse myself fully in the story and end up feeling the emotions of the characters too much. It takes me a little while to remove myself from the story. Weird, I know.
What I am reading now- A People's History of The United States
What I just watched- 21 Grams and a new episode of Miami Ink
What I am listening to on the iPod- Tom Petty, The Kooks, Madvillian, old school Pearl Jam and De La Soul
What I listening to on vinyl- Bill Withers, Tegan & Sara, Janis Joplin, Paul Simon and The Rolling Stones
This is for Yangon Thu's poetry weekend.
The rain and muck
Its pouring outside
and my soul is bleeding paint
my heart gushes spurts of blue, green and gold
the colors swirl and make muck
the muck remains as my little world is being cleansed
washing the paint of my heart down the sidewalk
down the gutter
and into the street
my soul and heart follow the paint
leaving that muck that I hold on to
I wave goodbye and blow a kiss
setting the last remnants of muck free
the rain lessens
leaving me nostalgic
and I run to get my muck back
But its too far down the street
swirled with blue, green and gold
in the newly purged sky I find my heart and soul
I breathe them in
and feel again
Two purses that I just finished, with more to come
What I am listening to: The Kooks, Johnny Cash, The Pharcyde, The Black Keys and a little Snow Patrol
What I am listening to on vinyl: Bill Wither's Greatest hits- there aren't more romantic songs than Lovely Day and Ain't No Sunshine, Tom Petty- Full Moon Fever, and Gloria Jones- Tainted Love, Jethro Tull
What I just finished watching: Artemisia- a French film on one of the first well known female painters in 17th century Italy.
What I am eating: mahi mahi tacos and broccoli- Trader Joe's is a beautiful thing
