My new heels- Oh how I love them
I have resorted to posting pictures of the new shoes that I just bought. I am so happy with them. You have no idea how hard it is to find cute shoes for a nice price in a size 11. Thats right, I wear an 11 and I am only 5'3. Its a cruel joke I tell you. If only I wore a 10, then I could still buy cheap shoes that were fashionable. But if I want to get something that lasts (because Payless and Target shoes usually fall apart fairly easily) I have to search far and wide. Big props to Michael Shannon- he knows that women can have little and big feet. What's a big footed freak to do?
Some things that have been going on with me:
Snakes on A Plane- horribly cheesy- but its just so great
Ok, ignore the fact that I actually went to see this movie. But Material Girls with Hilary and Haylie Duff is just bad. Bad enough that my sister and I walked out. No comments, yo. I want that 30 minutes of my life back and its my own damn fault.
Jack Fm's concert- Journey, Def Leppard, Billy Idol, Cheap Trick, Violent Femmes. Why does Billy Idol still look the same. Aww, dancing with myself- because dammit if I had the chance I really would ask the world to dance.
Flagstaff with my sister- yeah its school time again folks. I can't believe that she is in her final year at NAU. Crazy.
Oh yeah, and I have become a Myspace whore. Yeah, I said it. It has to be stopped this Myspace invasion. Ah well at least I can show some of my artwork up there. Check it people- Voz on Myspace
My room- photo #2
You can tell a lot about someone by their room. Are they messy or clean, an introvert or an extrovert, their likes and dislikes. I can't stand white walls- as you can tell. I need some visual stimulation when I wake up in the morning to get me moving. So my room is filled with stuff- usually because I am working on an art project or I am getting inspirations pieces together. Hopefull the clutter will go down once I have the garage cleaned out- but knowing me, it will be the same.
Anywayz, here is the simplistic mural that I painted over the previous one. The previous one was bright with swirling brushstrokes with my signature woman over some buildings. This time I decided to make things black and white with few details. I like the contrast of the fuzzy spray painted bubble and the smooth black and white. Just a little suggestion- if you are going to paint your walls or doors black, know that it will definitely take two to three coats to get it even. It takes awhile- but I think its worth it for the effect I got.
More room pictures to come ...
My room- photo #1
Its been awhile since I have posted. One of the reasons for the lack of posts is directly related to me forgetting to take my camera with me when I go places. So I was sitting here wanting to blog- but alas not pictures- how boring! So I waited and guess what, I still don't have any fun photos- but dammit I am going to blog anyway. So I have decided to introduce you to my room. This wall used to be a different mural- but I got bored and decided all black was the way to go. Then came the stencils- which I love- even though they were supposed to be hot pink and they look slightly red. Ehh....
My step-dad built me the shelf and on it I have things that I have collected that are mostly white- like the huge frame with my dad's picture in it, a cermaic vase shaped like a trio of guns and some sea urchin candle holders.
New bleached wide neck short sleeve sweatshirt
So here is a woman's sweatshirt. A little 80s- yeah that's how we did it. It has our motto scrawled in bleach- I might tag it next time. Might look cool.
Random thought of the day: It amazes me when I am in charge of grownup things like payroll, payroll taxes, and business deposits. I feel like an imposter. I was the anti-math girl. I took every math class twice in high school- cause I just couldn't get enough of the numbers, baby. Nah- its like I have a mental block against numbers. When I see them, I basically run the other way. But with my employers being gone, I am in charge and there is no real back up plan. So what can I do? I have a little number truce thing going on with Quickbooks right now- you know.
one option for the Voz dress
black scarf
Ok here are two more examples of the Voz Fall line. There are two options for both of these items. The dress can come in black as well as the above asphalt and the scarf also comes in bright teal but with a different design. Those pictures will come soon.
Here is another little meme that is going around (just cause I can):
1. What is the first song you listened to today:
In the shower- "Don't Cry" Guns N Roses; On my iPod- "Take Me Anywhere"- Tegan & Sara
2. Stretch your left arm out as far as you can...what do you touch first?
The wall. I am at my desk that is smushed along side the wall in room that has too much stuff in it.
3. What is the last thing you watched on TV?
Intervention on AE-harrowing, I tell you. You hope these people are alright but nine times out of ten they go back to being an addict.
4. WITHOUT LOOKING, what time is it?
11
5. Now look at the clock, what is the actual time?
11:10
6. With the exception of the computer, what can you hear?
Nina Simone on the record player
7. When did you last step outside?
three hours ago. I was playing soccer with my mom's dog Bella. Don't be surprised- she is good- agressive as hell.
8. What are you wearing?
basketball shorts and a white shirt
9. When did you last laugh?
when Bella grabbed the soccer ball and took it inside- a sign that she was way too tired to continue playing.
10. Seen anything weird lately?
hmm, what is weird? I did see a dude waiting for the bus with a flock of seagulls hair do and black eye liner with little stars on the outside of his eyes. Is that weird? I thought it was awesome.
11. What did you dream last night?
Last night I dreamt that a huge snake came through my open window and ate my dog and I slit it open to get her out. She was hurt but not dead. I think this comes from the trailer from Snakes on A Plane- I am so excited for this movie!-and I guess disturned by it from the sounds of this dream.
12. What's on the walls of the room you're in?
I am in my room so this answer could take awhile. Ok, lets pare it down, a mural on two walls- random art, a book shelf and my stereo that is mounted into the corner that Robin my step dad made.
14. What do you think of this survey?
Ehh, what are you gonna do?
15. What's the last film you saw?
Talladega Nights. Although I wanted to see Step Up- come on people, the commercial says its the voice of our generation- any teen movie that claims that must be seen.
16. If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy first?
Hmm a compound near the beach. Not a fancy one- once that needs to be worked on so that I can inject my art into it.
17. Tell me something about you that I don't know.
I feel guilt very deeply- it must be my Catholic upbringing. I can remember things that I said in fourth grade that were awkward and dumb and still feel bad about it. So I have to trick myself into forgetting it at that moment only to have it surface again and again. Weird I know. I have never been a carefree kid.
18. If you could change one thing about the world, what would you change?
Just one thing- thats so hard. I guess off the top of my head I would say world hunger. But I would also change the racist world we live in, attitudes against gays and gay marriage, American attitudes toward the world... I could go on and on.
19. Do you like to dance?
Hell yeah, I break it down at any given moment. Especially when I am supposed to be doing dishes.
20. Imagine your first child is a girl, what do you call her?
Adrienne, Soledad or Kalei
21. Boy?
Roman Alegria
22. Would you ever consider living abroad?
Yes, I would love to live in Spain or South America or Mexico. I just want to immerse myself in Spanish so that I can finally learn it fully- not the crappy Spanglish that I have.
Two new sweatshirts for the Voz Fall 2006 line
So here is just a little taste of what is to come for Voz in September- which is when I will probably get around to updating the website. Along with these two sweatshirts, there will be two types of scarves (black and teal), a boat neck women's sweatshirt, and a tunic type dress for women (in black and asphalt). Exciting people- well I hope you find it exciting that is. I will be showing sneak peeks this week- so look for other things to come.

Yet another vintage clutch (I think Lauren has dibs on this one though)
Big things are happening on the Voz front- I just put my order in to American Apparel for some sweatshirts, a couple of dog tees and some other possibilities for women. Its going to happen folks. Its about time, for reals. Hopefully at the kick back at my house this weekend I can get some of mine and my sister's friends to pose. Seriously, anyone who wants to come over Saturday night can pose for Voz. Anyone? Anyone?
Sidenote- I think I have mentioned the fact that I love the cheesy movie Armageddon. Yeah, I know, its lame. But still I love it- especially when the stripper says "Bye bye astronauta." Anywayz, to get to the point, my brother's girlfriend suggested that I call my line of accessories "Bye Bye Astronauta" for Voz Clothing & Art- thats probably the best idea I have heard in a long time. So excited and I just can't hide it, man...
Post No Bills
What I am listening to: Scandal- Goodbye to You (great song to sing at the top of your lungs), Nelly Furtado- Loose (good hip-pop album- makes you want to dance- I recommend #s 1, 2, 8)

What I am thinking about- we are going to have a little get together on Saturday- and dammit I need a pimp cup
What I am watching- Wedding Crashers as I get ready for bed
What I am obsessed with lately- Goorin Bros. hats, the store- Metropark, vintage tattoo flash, vintage luggage, chocolate merengues, ripped shirts, Umberto hair texturizer styling creme
Venice Beach
I bought Instyle magazine the other day because I was bored and the grocery store really didn't have any interesting reading material. In the health section of the magazine there was a workout plan that would give you the legs of Jessica Simpson, the arms of Jessica Biel, the abs of Jessica Alba and the butt of Eva Longoria (what they couldn't find another Jessica?)
So I thought what the hell, I need to do these excercises anyway I might as well look like the Jessicas but in my body. What the article didn't tell you was that it hurts to be a Jessica. I mean your body will ache like a mother. I was cursing Jessica all last night. It doesn't even matter which one either. It all hurts. But thats a good thing right?
