Where The City Sleeps, And I'm The Only One, I Walk Alone...

I was up really early this morning. Well maybe not that early but I am a person who would rather stay up all night than get up before 7 or 8 (still early but you gotta do what you gotta do). But this particular morning, I was awake before my dog at 5:45 in the morning. What the heck is wrong with me? Its not even like I went to bed early, I fell asleep at 1:30 or so. So whats up? Who knows. But I remembered I had left some Christmas present stuff in my truck so as I went out to get it, I noticed the sky. Things like the morning sky at that moment make me yearn for a digital camera. It was a beautiful soft blue with streaks of pink and dusky purple. I was amazed- I always see the sunset- but I hardly ever see the sunrise.

Its crazy how many times I have missed the sunrise. I stopped to think this morning, that my dad witnessed this every day. I wonder how many times he actually looked up to see all the colors in the sky? See, my dad was a cement finisher and in construction work you are usually at work before the sun rises. I remember that he would leave as early as 3 am to get to a job in Fallbrook or Thousand Oaks or Moreno Valley (this list could go on forever). This morning just made me think of him and how he can relax and enjoy the sunrise now...

I used to see sunrise in singapore all the time, because the government changed the time in Singapore and made it 1.5 hours ahead, so we would be standing in line at the assembly, getting ready to sing the national anthem and the school song and the sun would be rising..
it was usually pretty but extremely hot as Singapore is right on the equator.....

now I never see the sunrise anymore..
well, sometimes, when I'm up like a crack head from the night before, the light would shine in and remind me that I have to sleep...

Yeah they are beautiful. Watching the sunrise is as magical as watching the sunset.

MISS JACKIE
I to would be off to work early mornings and be able to see the sunrise. The start of a new day is the best- it's fresh, cool, and crisp .Infact i'm up now writing this and the sun should be up in half hour and i'll be outside to see it. Other then sunrises i love the sunsets, when ever i go some where special i make a point to take the time to watch it. Sunsets with your special some one and a cocktail or two wow i can see it now. Tell MISS MOE MOE that i saw the sunrise in singapore too. I'll never forget it my first day there i stay up all night just to see it. The sunrise was very cool to see it and the city for the first time , so good that i took a picture. My friends apartment was on the ninteeth floor so i saw the whole city and a big sunrise. MISS JACKIE i've seen a sunrise or two with your dad and i think he was just amazed with them as you were too.
