We Can Not Have That Behavior In This Establishment...

I have always been the non-affectionate girl. I don't play games in relationships and I only hug and kiss when I really mean it. I just have never been a touchy-feely type of person. I am more likely to express my feelings with words or by doing something nice for someone. I appreciate the same sentiments in love songs as well. I hate (loathe, abhor etc) sappy love songs (On the Wings of Love actually makes me ill). Strong words you might think- yeah I guess they are (but then again you know how I am about music).

I enjoy songs that delve deeper into the feeling of love and the details of it. I don't want a sweeping generalization of false promises. I want the whole thing. If I say I love you then I would fight for you, climb a mountain or stay with you when you are hurting and just need to be heard. Love to me means all of these things.

Extreme? Definitely. But because I feel this way and act this way I expect better than "Love songs along the Coast" songs. So I have made a short list of love songs that are better at expressing love (at least I think so anyway):

1. I Build This Garden For Us- Lenny Kravitz- Let Love Rule

We'll close the gates and lock the door
Our love will never fade away
When it's pure it forever last
And darling when you're cold
I'll hold you tight and keep you warm
Little darlin' gonna make it through the storm
You'll never be

2. Mind Sex- Dead Prez- Lets Get Free alone

Wait, let me guess boo, you probably like poetry
Here’s a little something I jotted down in case I spotted you around
So let me take this opportunity
Would you share a moment with me, over herbal tea?
Take a walk verbally, make a bond certaintly
Cuz in my hand I bet your hand fit perfectly
And it’s like we floatin out in space when you flirtin wit me

3. To Know You- Gift of Gab

Truly I really want to really, deeply get to know you...

I see the other half of me in your eyes...

These three are my favorite. There are a few more but it would take me forever to remember right now. So if you would like to hear these songs- let me know, I'll send you a mixed CD. You'll like it, for reals.....
