I'm in the Phone Booth, the One Across the Hall...
Fridays are great, Mondays suck and Sundays are bittersweet. Bittersweet because its the end of the weekend- the next day is back to business and the the start of the work week. But I have to admit that I love Sunday mornings. Sunday morning brings the Sunday paper full of house guides (I love to pretend that I am going to buy an estate), the funny papers (my dad and I never called them the comics like normal people), and best of all the Sunday ads.
Most people throw the ads aways as they are the equivalent of spam on the internet. But not me- I throw the rest of the paper in the recycling bin (grandma and I are avid recyclers). Why? Cause I know that if there was any worthy news, I could get it online- where I don't have to fold and refold the paper- lazy, yeah just a tad.
My dad and I loved all of the ads but we always fought the Target ad. The Target one was special- we would keep on the coffee table for the whole week and look at it every time we watched tv. Something about the way things were presented made an impression on us. Yes, it is crazy silly and unimportant- but for some reason I love to look at it over and over again. I can hardly explain the obsession. Sad I know.
But here I am again- Sunday evening cutting out pictures of sushi for a new coffee table that I am making and the damn Target ad is on the foot of my bed so that I can look at it for the umpteenth time. Maye Target has some interesting mind control ploys in the weekly ad- either that or I am weirder than I thought. Just some random, rambling thoughts for you all.
