Dia de los muertos and Election Day... Interesting combination.... A day to remember dead loved ones and a day to exercise your right as an American citizen and Vote.
Today I plan to celebrate the lives of: Ramon Sepulveda (my dad), Lydia Avina (my cousin- who used to try to trick my sister and I into saying that she was our favorite cousin of all), Juana Alegria (my great-grandma- who was actually very feisty and called everyone "mi baby"), Chila Acosta (my(great) aunt- who wore Air Jordans to every family function), and many others....
Yes, I will celebrate their lives here on earth and offer up prayers for their eternal life. But not before I drop off my absentee ballot and take my grandma to the polls. PLEASE VOTE TODAY....
