Hydro Power Pacts in Myanmar - who is to benefit from this?
This is so weird. I been hearing about the hydro power dams that will be built in Burma with the help of China and Thailand - and all the reports previously have all claimed that the power will go to the neighboring countries and not to Burma - but this article here from Forbes seems to indicate that the dams are being built because there is a shortage of electricity in Burma. Does somebody know if Burma will actually get the power? I need clarification. Maybe there is an anonymous source in the Ministry of Electric Power who can tell me?

Dams = Clearing the forest - cutting the trees down
Benefit to Logging Companies (Thai + Chinese + Burmese Generals)
Lost for Globle warming + homes of villagers near by + no proper survey = flood in rainy season.
Paung Laung Dam was completed and start producing electricity since last year. No befit to us but only to deserted roads and trees in Naypyidaw.
Burmese Government been selling LNG to Thais from Yadanar Field using pipe line all the way. The fucking generals don't have any idea to put in the contract that during enroute, Burmese ppl can have about one or two gas turbine generator/ electric power station to distribute in this country.
Now this new plan is to sell electricity to Thai, China and India - So sister nothing much to expect of. You can check this with insider in Min of EP not need to be anonymous since these facts are openly discussed in every tea shops!
Hey bro,
thanks for the clarification. I did know that the electricity would not benefit the Burmese people much but just wanted to make sure. Just think what could be accomplished if we actually had ample electricity in Burma - no more power outages in the General hospital, just be able to cook food at the right time, have a fan running when it gets too hot, etc.. without all those power generators - which probably aren't the best for the environment either. Oh, we can dream...
