indecisions

I can't decide if my favorite breakfast if Steamed white rice mixed with steamed Pepout (Asian Beans that are kinda like dahl but more beany) with a sprinkle of oil and salt

or

if it is what I try to make in a mad dash before I go off to work: wheat pita bread toasted with cheese and with a sprinkle of salsa and avocado and sometimes, i'll put eggs and meat in it.

Sometimes, i can't figure out if everyone is just bipolar

or

if the good and the bad just balances everyone out and you have to take everything with a grain of salt.

I can't deicde if the Christmas crowd bothers me ----A huge number of people walking around me in a rush to get somewhere, buy something, always kind of put me off because I spent my formative years in Singapore where that was normal, everyday thing to do. For some reason, being surrounded by this many people makes me feel so alone. Not lonely, just alone.

or

if it makes me feel good to know that in a couple of days, so many people will be smiling up to their ears as they open their perfect presents or grimacing and putting on that reindeer sweater their thrid cousin from the uncle side.

And, I can't decide if I'm happy that it's been so hot in Los Angeles these past few days

or

if I'm kinda disappointed that the millions of sweaters that I accumulated in the Bay Area, are rendered useless except for looking pretty in my tiny closet.

And I couldn't decide if I should keep this blog of indecisions away from prying eyes

or

If I should publish it.
but I did.
If only life was easier

Feel Better, Liz

| | Comments (0)

Hi everyone-
Jackie's mom Liz was just in the hospital recently for asthma complications but she's home now and on her way to recovery.

I hope you feel better soon, Liz - you are such a wonderful person and a great mom!!!

xoxo

So, you movie freaks, (Ahem! Jackie and Lauren, Ahem!) which movie was this blog title from? this other line is also from this movie:
"Oh my god, are you from England? That is so cute!" lol
I love this movie!!!

And I love him
There, I've given it away....

and this song is from that movie as well and these are my sentiments exactly. I cant' excape it. Everywhere I go, it's ingle Balls and bright lights in the form of santas and sleighs and elves and snowmen! I kinda like it but sometimes, I wish they woud just lighten it up a bit!

Billy Macks' Christmas is All Around
I feel it in my fingers,
I feel it in my toes,
Christmas is all around me,
and so the feeling grows

It's written in the wind,
It's everywhere I go,
So if you really love Christmas,
C'mon and let it snow

You know I love Christmas
I always will
My mind's made up
The way that I feel
There's no beginning
There'll be no end
Cuz on Christmas,
You can depend

You gave your presents to me
And I gave mine to you
I need Santa beside me
In everything I do

Good Things from Bad Things

| | Comments (2)

I am the youngest in my family - as Burmese people will be able to tell by my full name ___ sort of means precious and youngest child in the family is usually given that name. And everyone thinks youngest children are such babies and are so pampered. Maybe so, but I sure was bossed around alot as a kid growin up in a Burmese Buddhist family.

So I am used to being surrounded by bossy people and have always been told to listen to anyone older than me and do what older people said and I was the youngest in my extended family for a long time- my younger cousin was born 7 years after me and broke that chain but not for long, I left for Singapore when she was 3.

And I think that's why I am so rebellious sometimes and have to have my own way because as the youngest kid, i was tired of being bossed around. lol. And then I got into the bad habit of being obstinate when people argues with me, as in I would stand by my choice of action, against what everyone said, even if it was making me bleed. - which is a bad habit because this amkes me hold onto things and make me wary of change.

So by now all the readers of my blog should know that I'm long winded and that I was writing about people being bossy because my friend Kin Si (love you hon) was bossing me around for my own good:
To write up a list of Good Things that have resulted from Bad Things that have happened to me this year and boy oh, boy, what a year it has been. So like a good youngest child that I am, I am doing it.

So, I digress, here is the list:
1) Bad---Someone hit my car from the back during finals week in May 2004.
Good result--- My car has a beautiful brand new rear and found out, my brakes could have slipped and killed me from the check up and changed my brakes- so I didn't die.

2) Bad-- took me a while to find a job when I first got to Los Angeles
Good result-- I love my present job! I do! and I'm doing a pretty good job- and I'm not being big headed, I have been working hard, through all my illnesses.

3) Bad-- I was so ill from Gallstones, I could not keep food down..
Good result-- Made me realise that I've been eating really unhealthy food and that my body is suffering- and even though I haven't completely gone all healthy, I'm definitely doing better.

4) Bad-- I slipped a disc in my spine, thus giving me a herniated disc and mucho pain.
Good result-- I now really have to incorporate exercise and yoga into my life, which I've been needing to do for a while.

5) Bad-- I was also diagonsed with stomach ulcers and hibector pylori in the stomach.
Good result-- There are no good results from this one- I could not drink coffee for a long time and I still can't really stomach sodas like my favorite - CoCa Cola! - sigh, i guess not drinking those things are good things.

6) Bad-- Some guy hit my car in a parking lot a day before my birthday. (Can people stop hitting my poor car?)
Good result-- well, i haven't gotten good results from it yet but hopefully, I will get a new front bumper.

7) Bad-- It cost me around $500.00 in my move to West Hollywood. And with all my medical bills, I'm flat broke.
Good result-- the move would have cost $300.00 but I left my wallet in West wood and someone took $200.00 from me. And I love my new place- own bathroom, air conditioning and heat and I live by Korea Town and Thai Town and Little Ethiopia--- great ethnic food all around!!!! Love Silmo Thai Market-- I can make Burmese dishes now, if I can ever eat it... :-)

That's all I can think of right now but wow, 7 really bad things are enough, please... no more..
