Recycling men - Yangon, Burma - Oct 2005.

I truly appreciate all the support that the whole world has shown in favour of the people of Burma. I haven't personally had time to browse all the media outlets for information on the protests held in other countries in support of the current revolution in Burma. However, below are some links that you can visit to view the worldwide support.

I've been really touched by the emails and comments left on this site as well. I've been discouraged from blogging about the news in Burma. However, my family and friends have been very supportive and I just wanted to say that I will go on reporting facts and truths, until peace is on the agenda.

There are reports out that there were people still protesting in the streets in Mandalay and some in Yangon as well but I'm not sure how successful they are, esp in Yangon as there are reportedly soldiers guarding every traffic light and junction in downtown Yangon. I'll report more tomorrow.

La Repubblicca.it also has great pictures of protests for a Free Burma from all over the world.

Also, I just read the last entry on Ko Htaike's blog entitled "Please Help Monks". It is about the monks, who have been held captive, going on hunger strike since they refuse alms from the soldiers and the people are refused to donate alms to them. I was just going to blog on this as well but I really had no solution to the problem and I have already written so many times to the UN, I felt rather hopeless.
However Ko Htaike has called the International Red Cross and I believe that if we all write to the Red Cross and also to Prome Minister Gordon Brown, like Ko Htaike suggested, to pressure them into pressuring the UN organisations into doing something that will effectively eradicate the sufferings of the people in Burma. We can all do our little part in actually trying to help the revolution in Burma. Remember, United, we stand!
