Television channel MRTV 3 (governmet controlled) has shown pro government supporters gathering "spontaeneously" in the Kachin state of Myanmar. The Burmese military regime would like you to believe that this is the people's will - that not everyone would like the Military Regime to stand down.
However, Democratic Voice of Burma has proof from locals in that area that they were forced to attend the "pro-government" gathering. Soldiers and Swann Arr Shin are said to have told the households that at least 2 must attend "or else". Many people went to this pro-government protest out of fear.
About 1200 students from 9th and 10th grade and 250 teachers were said to have been made to attend this event as well.
One witness said he went there because he was afraid and just sat in the back very troubled and did not pay attention to what was going on in the event as his heart wasn't in it.
The people attending were made to also critique the protests that the monks and the civilians have been holding in various parts of the country.

Like I said before - they can say what they like but we know the truth. We know better.
Posted by Yangon Thu at September 29, 2007 10:09 PMBravo you are the best blooger out there. Keep going but be careful. I would be proud if I can help. Also I have a lot of admiration and love for Burmese people.
Democracy is somehow slow in many other places out there. Time to shake up things ? But peaceful please.
Posted by: netzen at September 30, 2007 08:21 AMHi netzen,
thank you. The Burmese people have been very peaceful in their protests.
But you must understand that when their peaceful ways are faced with harsh treatment - bullets - beatings, arresting and torture, they are bound to get angry and fight back as in throwing stones at them and defending themselves from getting hit. (especially as generations have been suffering)
However, still I stand by peaceful talks and strategic progress. I don't believe in war or violence. Hopefully Mr. Gambiri is able to peacefully rein these events into a good direction, in the best interest of the people and not the corrupt generals.
