Disturbing news in Singapore

I just heard some disturbing news from my cousin. She was at Peninsula Plaza (kind of like Little Burma in Singapore) in Singapore earlier today when she witnessed the following event:

1) A guy was sitting in a shop with a laptop supposedly looking at news on Burma. A policeman came by and said "stop visiting that site or we will confisticate from you".

My cousin did not know how it ended as she just passed by them.

2) In another incident, some people in Peninsula Plaza are saying that the police in Singapore led away 1 person wearing a red "Free Burma" shirt, for simply wearing that shirt.

UPDATE: An eye witness confirmed to me that No. 2 did happen, but that the person wasn't wearing a "Free Burma" shirt - but a shirt that said "Stop Black Sheep in Myanmar" --> I don't see how that is not ok to wear still.

I would like to know if the second incident is true. And I'd like to know why the 1st incident happened.

Why can't people read news on Myanmar in public?
Why can't someone wear a shirt with "Free Burma" on it.

I understand that it is illegal to hold public protests in Singapore and it is against the law to incit violence.

However, I don't see reading Myanmar news and wearing a "Free Burma" t-shirt to be breaking any laws.

Singapore government - now chair of ASEAN organisation has stated that they are revulsed by the way the Burmese Junta is handling peaceful protests in Burma.

In that case, a person wearing a "Free Burma" shirt shouldn't be led away to the police station, since he was not doing anything, he was peaceful. The same thing applies to the person reading news on Burma - a peaceful person - not doing anything but reading news.

I need answers, Singapore. I need answers.

I don't believe Myanmar people are trying to cause unrest in Singapore. NO. Myanmar people simply wants to show their support for their loved ones in their homeland. If above actions are true, please reconsider and support the long suffering people of Myanmar.
